Double post for today, because I finally uploaded the rest of my films from last semester! There's three:
Post(2'44, 16.4MB)
This is my "three-act structure" film. Honestly, most people just took their movie ideas and ran with them, three-acts be damned. Of course, I was no different. I'm sure I could come up with a shoddy three-act structure for this, but I wouldn't fool anyone. I really like most of it. The only things I have problems with is the lighting, and the voiceover. Granted, it is hard to light an environment and a person well with three lights, but I tried, and I kind of made it work. The only problem is that the background is mostly dark an indiscernable all the times. The exposure is okay, I actually forgot my light meter in Minneapolis (this is shot in my Dad's studio in Cedar Rapids, if you didn't know), so my dad had to go fenagle a light meter from Coe. The voice over is just bad writing on my part. Also, Bill's voice isn't great for voiceovers, and that's what my class had the biggest problem with. That's easy enough to redo, though, and I just might do that before Junior Reviews this semester.
Bogdan Raczynski: Track 9(2'21, 13.8MB)
If Steven hasn't seen this, which I don't know how he could have so he hasn't, then I think he'll like this one the most. Inspired by Bogdan's video for Track 8 of his Renegade Platinum album, I made this music video. This took double duty as my final for 16mm and my experimental film for documentary/experimental class. Slow motion is used, and it is pretty much awesome. I'm happy with it. Exposure: it's pretty shadowy, but I didn't light it at all other than the SUN, so whatever.
Capoeira Documentary(6'20, 36.2MB)
The star of the semester. Bill and I spent a weekend with the Midwest Capoeira Society at a retreat in Omaha, Nebraska. We shot nine tapes of footage, and these 6 minutes are the results. It was a LOT of fun to shoot and hang out with everyone. It was a little stressful going into it knowing pretty much only Tim, but in the end it was definitely worth it. Fun fun times, my class liked it a lot.
If these file sizes are too big for anyone, let me know and I'll upload smaller ones.
